The Island Planetarium and Robert Hooke Society, Freshwater will be observing Jupiter and attempting to repeat Hooke’s observation of Jupiter in 1664.   Hooke observed the rotation of Jupiter and estimated it rotational period of about 10hours.  Fort Victoria is  the Island’s first Dark Sky Discovery site.  BRING WARM CLOTHING!!

If the night is cloudy there will be still be observing using our planetarium and also illustrated  talks about Hooke and his discoveries and contribution to astronomy.
