Knowle Astronomical Society is holding its Spring Community Outreach Evening at the Parkridge Centre in Brueton Park on Thursday, March 6th at 7.30pm.

In liaison with the Solihull Parks Department, Borough residents are being invited to join members of the Society to look at Jupiter as well as the spring constellations, galaxies and nebulae.

In the event of the sky being clouded out, Society members will give a short presentation about the night sky in the Parkridge Centre – which will also be open for drinks and snacks on the night. Members of the public should bring torches (preferably red light) as the short walk to the Parkridge Centre is unlit, and dress for a cool evening standing on ‘damp’ grass! Parking is available at the Warwick Road entrance.

Knowle Astronomical Society was founded in 2001 and has around 50 members. Talks by a professional or amateur astronomer are given on the first (non- Bank Holiday) Monday of each month (except August) at Dorridge Village Hall, Grange Road, Dorridge.
