Hertford Astronomy Group is holding this year’s Star Gazing Live Event to coincide with the popular BBC television series hosted by Prof. Brian Cox and Dara O’Briain.
The theme of this year’s event will be Space Exploration and Space Weather, the Milky Way and other galaxies.
There will be plenty of telescopes on display and if we are blessed with clear skies, visitors will be able to view for themselves some of the universe’s most popular objects such as the Moon, Jupiter and the Andromeda galaxy, one of our near neighbours in space.
If it is cloudy there will be demonstrations and things to do, courtesy of the BBC website and there will be plenty of amateur astronomers on hand to answer your questions.
Doors will open at 7:00pm, so come and meet the stars at the Hatfield Cricket Club pavilion in Ascots Lane, Welwyn Garden City near to the QE2 hospital on Wednesday 8th January 2014.
