Guerrilla Astronomy Meet Up:

Join us at NEW College, Pontefract

Join our Physics Department as we “Target Jupiter”.

Jupiter is easy to see with the naked eye but…

Can we see some moons?

Can we see any detail in its surface?

Let’s give it a try.

We will meet up on the NEW College Rugby Pitch 7-8:30pm either Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th or Friday 7th March, depending on the weather.

Follow our @ncpontefract on twitter and check around 4:30pm each of the three days to see if we think the weather is up to it. Alternatively email ned.prideaux@ncpontefract.ac.uk to get an email update.

Bring warm clothes, outdoor footwear, yourself, your friends, your family, and (optionally) your binoculars or telescope.

Drop in for 5 minutes or come for the whole time.

Please use NEW College Pontefract, WF8 4QR, Car Park 3 (furthest from Pontefract). Then walk up the service road towards the building works. The entrance to the Rugby Field is at the top on your left.

I’ve marked the event as not accessible but it will depend on abilities. Get in touch, we would love to include everyone, we will see what we can do.
