Heaton Park Astronomy Group are holding a Jupiter-themed evening to tie in with National Astronomy Week. If it’s clear we will be outside observing Jupiter and its moons with telescopes, and also taking part in the CPRE/CfDS star count. We will have talks with facts about Jupiter, the discovery of Jupiter’s moons by Galileo and a practical demonstration of the scale of the solar system and Jupiter’s place within it.

We meet in the Bowls Pavilion, just inside the St. Margaret’s Road entrance to Heaton Park, Manchester. Hot drinks and biscuits available, toilets, full disabled access. Children of all ages welcome if accompanied by an adult. No charge, no need to book – just turn up, we’d love to see you!
